Karma Mics - Dynamic mic - Condenser Microphone - Recording Microphone - San Jose, CA :: Condenser Mics Trinity, Unity, Prophecy, K-10, K-micro, Silver Bullet

Condenser Mics Trinity, Unity, Prophecy, K-10, K-micro, Silver Bullet

Condenser microphones are most commonly found in professional recording studios. Condenser microphones have a much greater frequency response, but also are much more sensitive than dynamic microphones. All condenser microphones require 48 volts of "phantom" power, which is a very common feature available on most mixing boards.

Large Diaphragm Condensers (LDC's) like the Karma K-35 are commonly used for studio vocals. But, be sure to use a pop filter (aka pop screen) when recording vocals with a large diaphragm condenser. Karma Audio's innovative Dual Pop Filter is a great choice.

Small Diaphragm Condensers (SDC's) like the Karma K-10 are great at capturing transients and providing an even frequency response. They are commonly used as overhead microphones for recording drum sets.

Karma’s condenser microphones are high-fidelity recording microphones. They deliver crystal-clear sounds through clean electronics and are a popular choice in studio recording applications. The Prophecy is inherently an all-puropose mic due to the very small mass that must be moved by the incident sound wave. Karma Prophecy is a Single-Pattern condenser microphone.

Karma K-Micro silver bullet is a mini diaphragm condenser microphone. Put these versatile and very unique little wonders out on your drums & percussions, vocals, acoustic guitars, and in all situations - live sound and in the studio.

"I recently had the opportunity to try out Karma's new "Unity" and "Trinity" microphones in my studio, and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by their performance. Gone was the overly hyped top-end that characterizes so many of the LDC mics in this price range, and in it's place, a nice clear and detailed presence, perfect for vocal tracking. I was particularly impressed with the Trinity, as it's multi-pattern feature adds valuable versatility for a only few dollars more, but both mics displayed a nicely balanced overall performance with tight defined low-end and solid midrange punch. Their build quality is clean, modern and impressive (these mics have some serious weight to them!) and the shock mounts have a solid feel. It seems, with each new generation of Karma products, the performance-to-cost ratio improves. I look forward to putting the Trinity through it's paces in future vocal sessions, and I'm very comfortable recommending both of these microphones in their perspective price categories. Nicely done, Karma!"

"Karma's Trinity & Unity condenser microphones will become more and more popular with people searching out a good quality microphone that can handle vocals, production, broadcast and other similar jobs without having to pay the higher price. If you are looking for that all-around microphone for recording quality vocals at an affordable price, then Karma's Trinity or Unity could be the perfect mic for you. The Trinity & Unity are mics that can step up the recording quality of your work a notch. If the next requirement out of a new microphone is to enhance what you are already creating, then this could be a perfect choice. Karma's Trinity & Unity condenser microphones both have a large diaphragm and with Karma upping the capsule voltage of all of their large diaphragm microphones, you will find that the whole sound of the mic has improved and enhanced for even better recording quality. The Trinity & Unity create very low noise, and also have two switches which create options to switch between levels of pad and also high pass filters, allowing the mic to be very versatile and flexible, which is crucial in today’s recording demands. The Trinity offers three polar patterns for more flexibility. So, how’s the SOUND? Aside from the technical specification, the most important part of any microphone, is the sound it records, right? And this is the most important thing to know when looking to buy a new microphone like the Trinity or Unity. The Trinity & Unity will be known for their great sound, without the high price and both seems to deliver this on all levels. With the increased capsule voltage as mentioned above and the added features brought into the Trinity & Unity, the “rounded” sound it creates is high quality for recording vocals of all types. The bottom line is, if you are looking to enhance your vocals and create something of higher quality, but are hesitant about shelling out too much money, the Trinity Or Unity could quite possibly be the perfect choice!"

"I purchased 4 of your K-micro mics in the spring to build them in to my traveling set of Tuned Wine Glasses. I've been doing a ton of work with them. Here's a link to some videos I recently shot using your mics in my Tuned Wine Glass Case":

"I thought I'd share that with you guys!
I expect to be touring quite a bit with this instrument this year. I've built-in the mic clips and the K-micros. I wanted to see if you guys ever plan on making other small model microphones. I like these K-micros a lot, but I'm interested in trying some mics with other sonic properties as well, and I thought you guys might have some suggestions, or perhaps you have some other small mics in the same size category that I haven't yet heard about." --Jonny Rodgers --

I used 1 on the accoustic guitar with great results and 2 on the drum kit as overheads with no other mics on the kit. I must say when I showed up at work and showed them to my co workers they all kinda laughed. One even asking where the rest of the Mic is. After a good laugh, I had the last laugh since all the co workers were speechless as they heard the guitar and the overheads on the drums. Really a great set of mics and a great price.

Dark Sky Percussion used Karma Mics at the WGI World Championships and took 9th place in the Percussion Independent Open Class! "We used 20 Karma bullet condensers in order to amplify our Marimbas, Vibes, and bits of our Drum Set... I chose them based on a review from Chris Wabbich - a studio drummer in LA... Chris said 'My $20 Chinese mics just beat the hell out of my SM-57's'. We needed a ton, and... this was in our price range. They worked pretty well... and I'm glad I never had to deal with obscure mic problems" - Russel Potter, Dark Sky Percussion. Click here to see Dark Sky Percussion using their K-Micros:
